Frequently Asked Questions

Dr Burghardt no longer accepts in-person referrals for new clients and pets.  Instead, he provides Veterinary Behavior Consultations directly for your Attending Veterinarian, much like a Veterinarian-to-Veterinarian Consultation for Radiology or Internal Medicine.  This is because the Veterinarian who is providing service directly to you and your pet must establish and maintain a Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship, which can only be established in-person with you and through physical examination of your pet.  You may be able to ask for and get a Referral from your Veterinarian to a Certified Veterinary Behaviorist who can see you in-person.  Otherwise, you can ask your Veterinarian if a Vet-to-Vet Consultation is appropriate for you and your pet, and they can arrange for this service.

Dr Burghardt still provides rechecks for Established Clients.  If you are an Established Client, please message us using our Contact Form so that we can provide instructions on how to set a telephone recheck appointment.  You can also leave us a Voice or Text Message at (210) 549-6842.
